Spenomatic delivered a 16 MWp rooftop solar installation for a leading integrated steel plant in Tema, Greater Accra, Ghana. Completed in July and since inaugurated, the system already supplies nearly 12% of the facility’s total power consumption, and Phase 2 is underway.
Rooftop solar for heavy industry in Ghana
Integrated steel production carries large, continuous electrical loads. The project uses the plant’s extensive factory roofs to generate electricity close to where it is consumed, reducing the share of power the facility draws from other sources.
